Dogged Determination!

"If it isn't now it is never!!"...that's what i thought to myself when I was on my way back home...i have to write something down here..Many a times i came up to this new post page and always found myself lacking the will or the interest to pen down something or more literally press down on the keys..but i guess the time has come!..
Life makes you go through a lot things pleasant and unpleasant...I have my own share..

Probably around two months ago I had one incident which cannot be demarcated in any clear category..It involved a lonely bull,6 females including me and a huge crowd...

Let me start right at the beginning..The whole lot of us 5 colleagues/friends plus a group of other colleagues whom i am not so familiar with set out to visit a power plant which happened to be near humpi..
The visit to the power plant happened with its usual set of things going right and wrong...the things which went right for us were that the hotel accommodation was awesome(and it was free),it wasn't terribly hot(It rained the previous day!!),for the most part we could understand what was going on in the power plant and more importantly the food and the restrooms were good...(latter being very important if you are a female)
The things that dint go right for us were we got a little crammed int he TATA sumos, one of my friends lost her sunglasses,we had to walk a lot(according to my standards) and we had to wear hard hats the things which make us look as if we were mining coal!!
All in all a productive day..i could say!

The next day we started out to visit Humpi..a location most famous for its archaeological nature.I had been there before so I wasn't too excited. On the way one of my friends had motion sickness but it was minor thing...nothing which a few tablets of modern science couldn't cure.We got a guide to tour us around and had a hard time controlling our laughter when he tried to order us around or when he spoke insanely bad English.
He was very effective in giving us an idea of the various sculptures around since he did indeed resemble a scaled down version of famous 20 ft ganesha sculpture..

It was evening by the time he finished rendering his services to us and he left us at very scenic location which was quite a distance away from our taxis...we enjoyed the locale and the sunset and the cool breeze..I remember telling myself that "It couldn't get better than this!"...Just then it got worse..One of the guys got himself in a minor accident, result being his ankle getting fractured..and we were waiting for the ambulance to come and rescue him,but alas the location where we were at proved to be a disadvantage to us and the ambulance couldn't reach us.In the mean the sun had set and it was getting dark and we "girls" were advised to leave for the taxis and wait for the rest of the group there. We set out , a bit worried about the guy and his leg, our own safety, and to add to this we found a group of guys drinking on our way back and we hastened towards the taxis. Finally we managed to reach the main road and it was slightly crowded owing to the 50 odd labourers returning back home from work...we had still some 100 metres to walk before we could reach the haven of the taxis...but then a lonely ugly bull frustrated either because it was ugly or because it couldn't find a mate decided to give us all a bit of adventure...

I don't exactly know whether it had an intention of goring into any of the 50 odd bellies present there but it ran and snorted with the impression that it is not going to rest until it does..Believe the sight of an bull running at you is not a sight so easily forgotten (especially for a city bred girl who is also afraid of hoofed animals and has minimal knowledge of animal behaviour)..So what did we do..we found a RCC wall (I am a civil engineer after all) besides us and climbed onto it..and held onto the fence on top of it ...the wall wasn't too high..if the bull actually analysed the situation it could pick anyone of us to put its horn into..I think it indeed was thinking about that when it stooped 5 meters away from where i was clinging onto to save my plump self..By now you know that it was a good hearted bull since you are reading this ..It dint gore anyone..it snorted a bit more..decided "beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder"..and that it is a lot more easy grazing around without worrying about sharing food with a mate.. So it left without further ado..

By the time I got my bearing right (I had to cuss)...I realised one of my friends was indeed very calm and collected and was positively sure that the bull wouldn't harm us(She was the one who ensured we all were safely back to the taxi)..I realised one of my friends was on the other side of the wall, I realised that i dint get to the other side since i was more worried that my sunglasses would break in the process than save myself from the bull..

Anyways we hurried to the taxi and closed all our doors and sat for barely 5 minutes..and we couldn't sit any longer since it was too hot and we had to get out and stand...inspite of there being many hoofed animals around..this time we were safe since the bulls had cows to chase and they were least bothered about six scared humans!!..

The rest of the journey was uneventful..The guy with the broken leg reached bangalore and took a months bed rest and has resumed office..We have gotten over the incident..People have made so much fun of me due this incident that i rather forget it..

As regards the bull i am pretty sure some cow would have fallen for it!!:)

So the bull chased 5+ ladies to impress cows!! (Well.. it had to be the very 'Telugu Cinema Story' with bulls as well!)

I already imagined the scene some 5 times now! ROFLL!!
