Poets and Beggars

The event which spurred this post happened 3 days ago and it was named “thitholi”. It was described as a event where group of poets get together who were supposed to make you laugh. Turns out they did but they also made me appreciate poetry which I am ashamed to say I never could appreciate before. I never could really understand how poets could influence revolutions, as history said they did . These poets had an hidden agenda among them…to make us aware that we are the future and we have to behave responsibly…be it in treatment of fellow beings...or behaving as a part of this nation.

But I also felt what they were telling us….most of the crowd would forget the next day….because they have to…because they are not true to their country…because they are not giving back to the country…because they have become enchanted with luxury. I cannot claim to say that I am not one of them…but I have an hint of an idea…that I want to do something….atleast a bit useful….to someone else than me.

Right now as a result of the darned “chuski”…I am suffering from a bad cold….and to make it worse I had another one unable to resist the calling of my taste buds..These are the times when you really wish for an authority above you preventing you from making idiotic mistakes…like my Dad who I am sure would never let me have the first one only.
Anyways….you are allowed some mistakes in your life and I am not done yet…

Rendezvous 2007”, the cultural festival in IIT Delhi has the potential of being my last opportunity to enjoy as a student and I intend to over utilise it. So a cold is not going to stop me. Supposedly there is going to be Kailash Kher coming tonight intending to make a lot of noise and I plan to bear it happily …albeit with a huge headache.

I know I am begging but I would like some sign that someone is reading this crap….so please….post your comments…please oblige me…
